Surveys & Planning Permission

Site Survey

Information is gathered on the proposed location of a turbine to help select the optimum position for the wind turbine and to provide an estimate of the wind resource. A site survey is then produced, following MCS standards, which includes photos of the proposed site. This survey is used as part of the planning application.

Planning Permissions

Planning requirements vary by country and county/state/region so please contact us or your local reseller to discuss local requirements.

In the UK you will need planning permission, so before submitting a planning application we recommend that you review factors that may affect your application, such as bats and airports. We are experienced with the application process so can assist with guidance and/or manage your application from start to finish.

To support the planning process RenewableUK has published a small wind planning guidance booklet – A Good Practice Guide.

Grid Connection Application

Grid connection regulations vary from country to country and region to region. In the UK you are permitted to connect a R9000 to a single or three phase supply without the prior approval of the District Network Officer (DNO).

Also two R9000 turbines can be connected to a three phase supply without approval. Approval from your DNO will be required if you are connecting more than one turbine onto a single phase supply.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss your particular site survey, planning application or DNO requirements please contact us.
