Surveys & Planning Permission

Site Survey

The survey will include gathering information that can be used to help you select the optimum position for the turbine and to provide an estimate of the wind resource.  Depending on the estimated wind resource we may recommend you also consider measuring wind speed at the proposed location for an extended period. Contact Evance or your reseller to discuss this further.

Planning Permissions

Planning requirements vary by country and county/state/region so please consult with your Evance Reseller to understand and discuss local requirements.

In the UK you will need planning permission, so we recommend that you call your planning office as soon as possible to advise them of your intention to install a turbine. Evance Resellers are experienced with the applications process, so can assist with guidance and many will manage your application from start to finish.

To support the planning process, the UK Government has set up a central web site giving general guidance and enabling planning applications to be filed electronically.

Grid Connection Application

Grid connection regulations vary from country to country and region to region. In the UK you are permitted to connect an R9000 to a three phase supply without the prior approval of the District Network Officer (DNO). If you are connecting a turbine onto a single phase supply, or connecting more than one turbine onto a 3-phase supply then you will need the prior approval of your DNO. Your Evance reseller can arrange this for you.
