How much space do I need for a turbine?
For the best performance, the wind turbine should have no obstacles, such as trees and buildings, obstructing the prevailing winds. A turbine is generally sited at least 80m from a neighbouring property to avoid turbulence, shadow flicker and to attenuate noise. For more information visit How to Buy.

Is my site windy enough?
To get a good level of energy generation, annual mean wind speeds should be above 5.0 m/s (10 mph). When reviewing online wind databases you should check if the information given is measured at a higher or lower height that your potential tower height. Local conditions, such as buildings and trees, may affect wind speed. Contact your Evance reseller for a desk top assessment of your site.
