FAQs - General Enquiries

  1. Why install a small wind turbine?

By installing a small wind turbine you will reduce your energy bills and can sell surplus back to the grid. You can reduce your carbon footprint, contribute to the drive towards renewable energy and make an investment for the future.

  2. Can I mount my turbine on the roof of one of my buildings?

Evance does not currently supply a wind turbine that can be mounted onto a roof. The R9000 is mounted on a free standing monopole tower.

  3. Will the turbine impact wildlife?

The Evance R9000 small wind turbine is unlikely to have a significant impact on surrounding livestock and wildlife. There is considerable evidence to suggest that sheep, cows and horses are able to graze in the same field as a small wind turbine undisturbed.

  4. How tall are small wind turbines?

    The R9000 is mounted on a free standing monopole tower, which are available in 10m, 12m, 15m and 18m (33’, 40’, 50’, 60’) heights.

  5. Is the turbine noisy?

All small wind turbines generate some noise. Customers and prospective customers are often surprised at the low noise levels of the R9000. A great deal of work has been undertaken to provide standards and consistent methods of measuring noise levels for small wind turbines. This is part of the MCS cerfiication. Further information can be found on the R9000 product page

  6. What energy savings can I make?

With an annual mean wind speed of 6m/s the R9000 will generate an annual energy yield of 13,653kWh.  This can be used to reduce energy bills and in the UK any surplus can be sold back to the grid. As the Evance R9000 is a MCS Approved Product owners are eligible to receive Feed-in Tariff - income for generating renewable energy.
