FAQs - Certifications

  1. What is MCS?

The UK Government’s Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) developed MCS - Micogeneration Certification Scheme - to provide certification in accordance with consistent standards for all microgeneration technologies. It is designed to evaluate products against robust criteria providing greater protection for consumers.

  2. Have you got MCS certification?

The R9000 turbine is an MCS Approved Product and Evance is a MCS Approved Installer.

  3. What does MCS certification mean to me?

Owners of the R9000 in the UK are eligible to receive the Feed-in Tariff - income for generating renewable energy (introduced in April 2010).

The MCS accreditation is a formal recognition of the durability, reliability, safety and overall performance of the R9000, which provides customers with confidence in the turbine.

The R9000 turbine performed exceptionally, passing all MCS criteria and well exceeded the requirements of the durability test, to obtain MCS Approved Product certification.

  4. How do I apply for Feed-in Tariff once my turbine is installed?

Your electricity supplier will process your application for the Feed-in Tariffs. A useful guide to the process is published by Ofgem.

The MCS certificate for your site will be provided by your MCS accredited installer when your system is commissioned to enable this process.
